The Rooted in Nature Process
1: INQUIRY & VIDEO MEETING
Every project begins with a conversation. Once you submit our inquiry form, we’ll review the details to determine if your project aligns with our services and approach. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll schedule a Discovery Video Meeting—a casual, 20–30 minute call where we can get to know each other, learn more about your goals, and walk through the scope and vision for your home.
This is an important first step in making sure we're the right team to bring your project to life—and it helps us start the process with clarity, connection, and intention.
2: PERSONAL DISCOVERY
Every meaningful design begins with understanding who we’re designing for. In our Personal Discovery phase, we take the time to truly get to know our clients—their routines, values, passions, and what makes them feel most at home. We explore not just how they live, but how they want to live—what inspires them inside and outside of the home, from favorite travel destinations to morning rituals, family traditions to personal style.
This insight becomes the foundation of every design decision we make, allowing us to create spaces that feel effortless, intentional, and deeply personal. Because a beautifully designed home should be a reflection of the people who live there.
3: DESIGN EXPLORATION
This is where inspiration takes root. During the Design Exploration phase, we invite our clients to share the places that speak to them most—favorite local spots, natural trails, waterfronts, overlooks, gardens, or even the quiet corners of their own property. We use these personal connections as a foundation for the design, drawing not only from your aesthetic preferences but from the land itself.
We’ll also personally explore these areas—and others nearby—to observe the light, texture, color, and natural patterns that make the location unique. This immersive approach allows us to design a home that doesn’t just sit on the land, but belongs to it. It’s our way of ensuring your space feels deeply personal, grounded in its surroundings, and truly inspired by place.
4: DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
This is where the vision takes shape. After gathering inspiration and insight during Discovery and Exploration, we move into Design Development—our behind-the-scenes creative phase where ideas become fully realized plans. Working remotely, our team crafts thoughtful layouts, selects finishes, and builds out the design through a series of detailed presentations.
Clients receive a mix of 2D floor plans, immersive 3D renderings, and curated sample boxes delivered straight to their door, so they can see, touch, and experience the vision from wherever they are. This collaborative process allows for refinement and feedback along the way, ensuring every element is aligned with your lifestyle, surroundings, and personal style.
5: DESIGN EXECUTION
Once the design is finalized, we move into execution—where the vision becomes reality. While this series is developed remotely, our team remains actively involved by attending key on-site milestones and maintaining frequent builder communication to ensure your home is built and finished exactly as intended.
We schedule a select number of pivotal site visits, including walkthroughs for electrical, plumbing rough-ins, and other critical checkpoints, allowing us to guide the build team with clarity and precision. These visits help ensure that every detail—from fixture placement to millwork execution—aligns seamlessly with the design plan. It's a collaborative, thoughtful approach that keeps your project on track and your home beautifully aligned with its original intent.
5: DESIGN Reveal
The final phase is where everything comes to life. During The Design Reveal, our team installs all furnishings, places accessories, and styles every detail to reflect the full vision we’ve created together. It’s a highly curated process—every pillow fluffed, every lamp placed, every texture layered with intention.
Once the space is complete, we professionally photograph the home to capture the transformation in its best light. This moment is the culmination of months or years of planning, collaboration, and creativity—and it’s always worth the wait. It’s not just a finished project—it’s your home, fully realized.
